King Cruiser Shipwreck

The King Cruiser passenger catamaran operated between Phuket and Phi Phi. On one of its voyages on May 4, 1997, it hit an underwater rock (Anemone Reef) and sank a few hundred meters away. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident as the coast guard rescued everyone.
Nowadays, the King Cruiser wreck offers exciting wreck diving, with its length of 85 meters, width of 25 meters, and depth ranging from 18 to 30 meters. The multi-level catamaran stands on the seabed. Aside from exploring the wreck’s corridors and structure, you’ll encounter numerous underwater wonders here, it is a haven for nudibranchs, lionfish, and scorpionfish hiding within the ship’s hull. Massive schools of fish: barracuda, snapper, tuna, and mackerel swarming around the wreck. Strong currents and varying visibility: 5-20 meters are common, making King Cruiser dives suitable for experienced divers only. As it lays below 18 meters, we do deep or wreck adventure dives here, otherwise we recommend it with an Advanced Diving Certificate or higher.

Shark Point

One of the most colorful dive sites near Phuket, Shark Point consists of three large rocky areas. On the surface, only a small lighthouse marks the reef, which extends over a vast area underwater. Lush soft corals surround the shallower sections, teeming with vibrant schools of fish. Deeper areas feature coral gardens adorned with giant sea fans and barrel sponges, home to numerous small critters. The main attraction at Shark Point are the resident leopard sharks, often spotted resting among the rocks while divers explore the site.

Koh Doc Mai

A limestone island located near Phuket, Koh Doc Mai boasts an excellent vertical eastern wall, resembling a coral cliff underwater. Due to its porous structure, the wall is filled with cracks and crevices, and two sea caves can also be found here. The most intriguing aspect of this site is the tiny creatures that inhabit the wall, including sea snakes, frogfish, various nudibranchs, and ghost pipefish, along with the two sea caves. But there are big schools of fish hanging in the blue and whale sharks occasionally swim close to the island gifting the luckiest divers. This dive site is most interesting in the 5-25 meter depth range but can feature strong currents and varying visibility (5-20 meters). Therefore we recommend it for more experienced divers.
