Program

We meet at the beach, get a brief orientation, and then get ready to head out to the sea. Kata Beach dives involve about 5 min surface swimming to the reef.

Beach dives in Phuket are relatively easy with a max depth of 10-12 meters. The bottom time is maximum of 60 minutes/dive.

The underwater scenery is filled with coral and rock formations. There are countless reef fish amongst the corals, schools of juvenile barracudas and snappers hang in the blue. There’s a chance to spot a green turtle, eagle ray, or the mimic octopus.

Underwater photographers and macro enthusiasts can observe numerous tiny organisms without any rush.

There are submerged concrete blocks at Kata to create artificial reefs. Many fish take shelter in and around them, so we often swim there to look for special findings. Their residents:  giant pufferfish, batfish, snappers, groupers, cuttlefish and colorful nudibranchs.

Night dives are also available for certified divers at Kata Beach. Highlights: squids, cuttlefish, barracudas, crustaceans, phytoplankton. Briefing and equipment setup at  18:30, night dive starts at 7 PM.

All beach diving locations offer beautiful surroundings and are perfect for non diver family members as well.
